The Alfred Duma Local Municipality Deputy Mayor, Cllr S. Simelane, officially introduced the contractor for the construction of the Ward 36 Sigweje Asphalt Road Phase 2 project at KwaHlathi No. 2 on Monday, 28 September 2026.
During a community meeting attended by community members, the Deputy Mayor, who is also ward 36 councillor, formally introduced the contractor to the community that will facilitate the implementation of the road construction project.
The project has been awarded to Bubanzi Geomatics & Properties and is expected to create 10 employment opportunities for local community members.
On Saturday, 26 September 2026, the Deputy Mayor, Cllr S. Simelane, had been in ward 16 at Ezimbuzini Community Hall, under the Cllr. M.G Zikalala. There too he was on a purpose to officially introduce the contractor appointed to construct Watersmeet Asphalt Road to the local community. The contractor, Akwande Konke logistics is set to complete phase 2 of the ward 16 tarred road and total of five people from the community will be employed.
The Alfred Duma Local Municipality remains committed to ensuring the effective facilitation and successful implementation of service delivery projects across itscommunities. Community members are kindly requested to cooperate with all project-related processes and assist in safeguarding construction materials on site.
The theft or vandalism of construction materials may delay project completion and negatively impact service delivery. The municipality therefore appeals to residents to support the project and help ensure its successful completion for the benefit of the entire community.,
