On Wednesday, 26th November 2025, the Alfred Duma Local Municipality, under the leadership of the Honourable Mayor Cllr ZJ Sibisi through Operation Sukuma Sakhe office, hosted a send-off ceremony for the Alfred Duma disability team to the Provincial Disability Games.
The ceremony, held at UMnambithi Town Hall, was attended by Exco Member Cllr TP Dlamini and Cllr N Thabede.
Cllr TP Dlamini applauded the team for their participation in municipal programs. He wished them well as they represent the municipality in various sports codes during the provincial disability games in Durban Metro and also wished them a good festive season.
Mr Mbhasobhi Dubazane, District Disability Chairperson, expressed his gratitude to the municipality for the opportunity on behalf of the team.
Venues and sport codes are as follows: Hoy Park – football and netball, Kings Park – athletics, uMlazi Q Hall-table tennis, uMlazi AA hall-chess, uMlazi M hall-goal ball, uMlazi V hall-umlabalaba, Victoria Mxenge-indoor sport centre (uMlazi)-Wheel chair basketball and closing ceremony.
