On Tuesday the 20th of August 2024 Alfred Duma Local Municipality Deputy Mayor Cllr Sizwe Simelane visited Roosboom area in ward 11 under Cllr Khumalo the aim of the visit was to introduce a contractor to construct Roosboom gravel road. In attendance were Cllr Kubheka, Cllr Mbhense, Cllr Mlotshwa and Cllr Ntsusha.
The Deputy Mayor outlined that our municipality focuses primarily on development issues like roads, high masts and halls. Inyonemnyama Construction and Trading Enterprises has been introduced as a contractor who has been awarded a project of constructing Roosboom 3.5km gravel road with the amount of R3.9m which will be completed within 4 months.This project will create job opportunities for 10 community members.
He proceeded to eTholeni in ward 34 under Cllr Magasela where he introduced a contractor that will undertake the construction of eTholeni 1.2km Asphalt road (phase 1).
Messrs Deezlo Trading CC was introduced as the awarded contractor to the project with the amount of R7. 5m which is expected to be completed within 6 months, 10 community members will benefit with employment.
On both occasion the, Simelane pleaded with community members not to interrupt the projects if they have any dissatisfactions they must liase with their ward councillors not with contractors.
