
The Alfred Duma Local Municipality mayor Cllr Zama Sibisi visited the community of ward 27 on Wednesday 12 June 2024. The aim of the visit was to introduce a contractor who will undertake the refurbishment of Emgodini lower water crossing in Ward 27.
In attendance was the Mayor Cllr Zama Sibisi, Cllr Xaba of ward 27,Cllr Mlaba of ward 17,Cllr Mswane of ward 19 and PR Cllr Sithole, municipal officials ward committee and residents.

Mayor, Cllr Sibisi firstly noted trauma the community went through during the floods that washed away most of the municipal infrastructures. As the municipality that serve with integrity and care for the services of the community, “today we introducing the contractor named Messrs Mybuko group that will be undertaking the refurbishment of Emgodini low water crossing. It is expected that the duration of construction this project would be 4 months. The project presented job opportunities to the community as the contractor will hire 10 people. The estimated costs of the project is R1 318 765.26.

The Mayor further pleaded with members of community to protect and ensure that project proceedings are not disturbed or challenged through theft and vandalism. He also urged community members to report to the ward Cllr or his office anytime whenever there are unsatisfactory instances or any issues relating to the project.
