
On Thursday, 17 August 2023, Alfred Duma Local Municipality Deputy Mayor introduced a contractor to install 7 High Mast (Apolo) lights to the community area of Kwahlathi, ward 36.
Members of the community who have been living in the dark for years found joy as the Deputy Mayor proudly announced another initiative from Alfred Duma Local Municipality to bring light to their area. The project mounted to cost R3 millions is set to benefit this community from job creation and skills labour. He further congratulated the identified members to gain experience and employment opportunities.
In his conclusion, Simelane stated that this development is aimed at eliminating criminal activities. Both communities and contractors must cooperate so that the project will be finished on time as it is promised to commence by next Monday.
