On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, The Alfred Duma Local Municipality led by His Worship the Mayor, Cllr Zama Sibisi accompanied by PR Cllr Sithole, ward 19 Cllr Mswane and ward 17 Cllr Mlaba visited ward 9 in Tsakane with an aim of handing over tools to Imbaliyetsakane Cooperative Garden through the LED program.
The municipality is in the journey of bringing services aimed benefit our citizens through self-help and self-reliance. We highly note that the work that you are doing in this garden put food on the table for members of the co-op, you are paying bills and schools from this garden. “It’s for these reasons we have decided to land our hand by bring this material. We are urging all municipal community members to start gardens to sustain their lives and to teach the next generation about self-help and self-reliance.” Said the Mayor
Local community members who were gathered at the garden warmly welcomed the material that was brought by the mayor. The mood clearly showed their appreciation as they sang in receiving the tools. The garden was established women and men within the area to improve their lives whilst educating the next generation.
The tools handed over to the cooperatives included 20 fences, 20 fencing poles, various seeds, and fertilizers. The mayor promised the members that the municipality would send a tractor to assist them.
