The Alfred Duma Local Municipality, led by His Worship the Mayor, Cllr Zama Sibisi, is calling upon residents of the municipality, including those in the CBD, urban, rural, and township areas, to be vigilant and take precautions during the ongoing snowfall.
The current weather conditions have resulted in icy roads, causing traffic disruptions and leading to some closures.
We urge everyone to remain safe in these weather conditions and to stay indoors until the snow dissolves.
In light of these conditions, we further urge all residents, especially those in rural, townships and informal settlements, to obey safety rules when using fire during this period. The use of izimbawula, candles, paraffin stoves, and other heating appliances must be monitored at all times and should not be left unattended.
